Sprott Shaw Language College Vancouver

Sprott Shaw Language College, known as SSLC, offers English language study at its Vancouver campus on Howe Street. The school’s language programmes serve learners developing everyday communication as well as students preparing to continue into post-secondary education. Its Vancouver reception is listed on the second floor of 549 Howe Street.

General English and an academic pathway

General English provides a foundation in the language skills needed for everyday communication. The school also offers English for Post-Secondary Education, or EPE, as a pathway-oriented programme. This option is intended for students working towards the language expectations of further education.

Pathway arrangements depend on the receiving college or university and the learner’s results. Students should therefore establish the current conditions for their intended institution rather than assume that finishing a course guarantees admission.

Arrival and placement support

SSLC’s first-day process includes check-in, placement assessment where required, an introduction to the campus, and information about the programme and timetable. Students also receive their course materials as part of the arrival process. The school provides practical pre-arrival information and a homestay contact.

When planning a Vancouver stay, confirm the teaching building and floor, since the school also identifies additional premises nearby. Several unrelated institutions use Howe Street addresses. Choosing the correct SSLC campus and course avoids confusion about arrival, accommodation location and the weekly study commitment.
