About the school
Language Studies International’s New York school is in Suite 1000 on the tenth floor of 40 Rector Street. The Lower Manhattan building was designed by the architects responsible for Grand Central Terminal. Its classrooms have wide views over the surrounding district, and the World Trade Center is a few blocks away. This downtown address gives students a different base from the English schools clustered around Broadway theatres and Central Park.
General, academic and individual study
LSI’s course information includes general English, academic study and business English. General language teaching is a starting point for students who want to build confidence across several skills. The academic option is relevant to learners who expect to read, discuss and write about material in English at college. Those with an immediate professional need can investigate the separate information for business and professional courses at the Rector Street school.
One-to-one tuition gives a learner another way to organise a stay. A student can identify a particular task, such as explaining a project or understanding difficult spoken questions, and ask how individual lessons could support it. LSI also publishes arrival information for the building. Keep the suite and floor with the street address when planning a first visit to this high-rise campus.
