CLIDA Centro Linguistico Italiano Dante Alighieri Rome

Centro Linguistico Italiano Dante Alighieri, usually shortened to CLIDA, is an Italian language school at Piazza Bologna in Rome. Its course range combines general language instruction with opportunities to study Italian culture. The location offers a neighbourhood base for students who want to build a regular study routine in the city.

Group, evening and combined programmes

CLIDA organises its general Italian courses across proficiency levels from beginner to advanced. Teaching develops speaking, listening, reading and writing. The standard group format contains twenty lessons per week, while other group options offer a different intensity. Evening classes provide an alternative for learners who cannot attend a daytime programme.

Combined courses bring group teaching together with individual lessons, or connect language study with cultural instruction. This gives students a choice between additional personal language support and a broader exploration of Italian life. The school’s culture courses cover areas such as history, literature and social or political topics, extending study beyond everyday conversational tasks.

Planning study at Piazza Bologna

Students with some previous Italian and complete beginners follow different entry arrangements. Checking the correct intake is therefore particularly useful when a course must fit fixed travel dates. For combined study, look carefully at the mix of language lessons, private teaching and cultural sessions. The right programme depends on whether the main aim is to strengthen general communication, study more intensively or understand Italy through its historical and cultural context.
