About the school
Manhattan Language is on the eleventh floor of 26 Broadway in New York’s Financial District. The school describes twelve classrooms, a café and lounge area, and views over New York Harbor towards the Statue of Liberty. The address is at the downtown end of Broadway, an important distinction for a visitor who associates the street mainly with Midtown theatres. Several subway lines serve this part of Manhattan.
Inside the intensive English programme
The American English Intensive programme is organised into thirty-two lessons a week across three elements. A speaking and listening class uses discussion, role-play and debate to give students practice making themselves understood. The integrated skills class concentrates on grammar, reading and writing. A separate elective lets the student direct part of the week towards a specific interest.
The school identifies Business English and Academic Skills as elective choices. A learner preparing for university assignments can therefore use the same intensive structure as someone with workplace communication goals while choosing a different specialisation. Manhattan Language also describes activities that take English practice into the city. When planning attendance, check the current elective timetable and note that the school distinguishes in-person office hours from its online Friday office service.
