About the school

Italianme began in 2016 when three teachers who had worked together founded a school for international learners. Classes take place on the fourth floor at Piazza degli Strozzi 2. The central Florence location is a good starting point for students who want to connect their Italian lessons to a particular creative interest. Photography, drawing and painting, jewellery making, cooking and art history all appear among the school’s language combinations.

Choosing an intensive Italian course

The language programme includes semi-intensive, intensive and super-intensive options. For someone beginning Italian from scratch, the school publishes specific intake dates across these formats. Choosing an intensity and checking the beginner calendar together is a practical first step when arranging a short visit. A learner returning to Italian can ask which group is working at their level during the proposed stay.

Italianme also works with visiting teachers and university departments to design a field school around the interests of their own students. This is a separate route for a group arriving with a shared subject or academic aim. A department can propose what it wants the students to study and discuss using the Florence facilities. An individual visitor can instead choose from the scheduled Italian courses and enquire about an accompanying creative subject.
