Korea University Korean Language Center

Korea University’s Korean Language Center provides Korean courses from its Korean Education Building in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul. Its regular programme is organised around four seasonal terms and offers routes for general communication and academic preparation. It is suitable for learners seeking a structured university language-centre setting and a defined sequence of levels.

General communication or academic preparation

The general Korean course develops language through an integrated, communication-based approach. A term lasts ten weeks, with levels assigned according to proficiency. Morning and afternoon options are listed, although the available level range is not identical in each session.

The academic Korean route adds work on presentations, discussion, writing and TOPIK-related study. It is intended for learners considering undergraduate or postgraduate education in Korea. A separate top-level course is available to eligible students who have completed the regular level-six sequence.

Planning a term in Seongbuk-gu

The centre’s published address is on Bugaksan-ro 27-gil, and the administrative office is in Room 301 of the Korean Education Building. Students should use the language centre’s own location when checking their daily journey.

Applications involve academic eligibility and document requirements, with deadlines before teaching begins. Places can close early when demand is high. Compare the general and academic routes by their actual learning content, then confirm the appropriate level and session. Language-centre enrolment and later degree admission remain separate decisions with their own conditions.
